As part of the Sustainable Development Goals, all countries have set a target (3.8) to make progress towards universal health coverage (UHC). The UHC Service Planning, Delivery & Implementation (SPDI) Platform supports countries to develop well-designed national health service packages - a key mechanism for hitting the SDG target.
SPDI allows countries to use data from the powerful UHC Compendium of Health Interventions. This supports more implementable packages that include health promotion and prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care services across the life course.
The absence of foundational services related to first-contact primary and emergency care limits countries’ ability to meet people’s health needs. SPDI helps ensure that these services are an integral part of a national UHC package.
Services are linked to the UHC Compendium of Health Interventions - providing detailed information on the human and material resources needed for effective service delivery.
SPDI allows a package to be contextualized and services assigned to country specific service delivery platforms.
Interventions provided in SPDI are linked to WHO references - creating one-stop access to the most up-to-date guidance.
Commenting and highlighting functions allow planners and subject matter experts to collaborate on package development and revisions.
